Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, the Most Famous Gorges in China
Three Gorges Project of the Yangtze River is located in Chongqing City and Hubei Province in China. It begins from the Yangtze River on the Fengjie County in the west, and ends to the east of toll-gate of Yichang City, Hubei Province, totally 192 kilometers long. In addition to the famous Three Gorges, the many rivers in China are having scenic spots named with Three Gorges. Besides, there are many poems that are using the Three Gorges as subject matter.
There are countless scenic spots in Yangtze River, but the most famous one is the Three Gorges of cause. The three gorges are Qiantang Gorges, Wu Gorges and Xiling Gorges. The Qiantang Gorges is 8 kilometers long, and the wide of Qiantang Gorges is no wider than 150 meters. It is the most grand and steep one. Wu Gorges is totally 40 kilometers long, mountains echoes through the land, and the river bends just like a beautiful picture draw by nature. Xiling Gorges is the longest one; it is 76 kilometers long and is also famous for its steep and dangerous. The water flowing fast and the mountains are high besides the river. Since the forming of new China, Gezhou Dam has been built and it improved the living besides the Xiling Gorges.
There are countless scenic spots besides the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, such as Rhinoceros Looks at the Moon, the Goddess Peek, Mengliang ladder and so on. It is the place worth anyone to visit in China.
