Five Most Famouse Mountains of China:Mountain Hengshan(South)
Heng Mountain also called Southern Mountain, 1300.2 meters above the sealevel, it is one of The Five Mountains of China. Heng Mountain located in Nanyue district of Hengyang City, Hunan Province. Because of the climatic conditions are better than the other four mountains, trees are covering the mountain all year round. Exotic flowers and rare herbs, the scent of flowers and the beautiful scene all make Heng Mountain get a fair name of Unparalleled Mountain in Southern China. In 1982, Heng Mountain was designated by the State Council as being among China’s foremost State-level scenic spots with the name of Heng Mountain Scenic Spots of Hunan Province. In August 1st, 2007, Heng Mountain was designated by the State Council as national natural protection area.
The beautiful of Heng Mountain lies in trees are everywhere. It just like a huge natural park that you can see green trees cover all the mountain range and remain green throughout the year. There are many temples in Heng Mountain such as Fuyan Temple, Nantai Temple, Cangjing Temple and Fangguang Temple. The Fuyan Temple is the largest one and called the No. one age-old temple of Southern China. There is an old maidenhair tree which is over 1400 years old. The trunk is strong and wears in full leaf. The Nantai Temple was built in Six Dynasties that also have more than 1400 years of history.
The best season of visiting Heng Mountain is between then end of summer and the begging of autumn, it’s cool and has a fine view. Never the less, from December to February is also a good time to visit there, one can see the famous snow-covered landscape in Heng Mountain. Because of the special climate condition, Heng Mountain also has a soft rime view that cannot be find in other place of Southern China.
